Job Purpose
This position is central to the delivery of the Undergraduate program within the Department of Nursing. The individual appointed will join a team of faculty /researchers and provide both width and depth to the team, through teaching excellence and research ability. The individual will be expected to be working with liberal educational methods, including laboratory simulation, and have well-developed organizational skills. The Department is within the College of Health Sciences and inter-professional activities in both teaching and research should be areas that the candidate has experience in and is motivated to develop.
Main accountabilities & expectations
- Teaching at the Baccalaureate level in a variety of courses.
- Experience with competency-based curriculum in teaching and evaluating students.
- Curriculum refinement and evaluation.
- Student advising.
- Research, contributing to the Department's growing portfolio of grants and publications.
- Community engagement and participation.
Required Skills
- Ph.D. degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in academic settings.
- Eligible for UAE professional nurse licensure.
- Demonstrate current scholarly activity and a track record of research publication.
- Experience in simulation Instruction.
- Clinical experience of a minimum of 5 years in Nursing.
- Ability to work effectively with Faculty, Staff, and Students from the diverse cultural background is essential.
- Teaching and clinical supervision with competency-based curricula and research competencies are required.
- Teaching community health courses is an asset.
- Experience with program development, program accreditation, online teaching, and simulation.
- Obtaining externally funded grants is desirable.
- Candidate must have an adequate research profile.
