The Fran and Earl Ziegler College of Nursing (CON), University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (OU), seeks outstanding nurse clinicians and researchers for tenure-track and non-tenure track positions. We seek faculty with exceptional qualifications who share the University’s core values of high standards of excellence in innovative and collaborative practice and research, combined with fostering an open and welcoming environment that promotes participation of underrepresented groups in advanced clinical practice and research. Faculty candidates with clinical practice/advanced practice nursing and/or programs of research are encouraged to apply. Faculty opportunities are available immediately for candidates with clinical and/or research expertise in several areas of nursing for all locations, Oklahoma City, Tulsa, and Lawton. Faculty appointments for these positions are made at the Assistant, Associate or Professor level, on either tenure or non-tenure track, based on the candidates’ academic preparation, level of expertise, and experience.
All faculty are expected to contribute to the academic mission of the CON by operationalizing the interdependence among education, research and practice/service.
Academic positions require commitment to teaching, research/scholarly activities, and service.
For faculty teaching in the Undergraduate Program, a Graduate Degree in Nursing is strongly preferred. Baccalaureate degree in nursing plus evidence of continued progress toward a master’s or higher degree in nursing with completion of a minimum of six (6) semester hours per calendar year, with the expectation that the master’s in nursing degree is completed within two years of starting the program.
For Faculty teaching in the PhD and DNP Programs, a Terminal Degree in Nursing, Health, Science, or Social Science related field is required. Faculty teaching in the PhD Program must meet the HSC Graduate College faculty appointment guidelines for Associate Member or Full Member Appointment at level 3 or 4 authority. For faculty teaching in the Master’s Degree Program, a master’s degree in Nursing, Health, Science, or Social Science related field is required, with a master’s degree in Nursing strongly preferred. A terminal degree in Nursing, Health, Science or Social Science is preferred.
