The Department of Kinesiology, Health Promotion, and Recreation supports and encourages an in-depth understanding of the nature and functioning of human beings in their physical, health, and leisure behaviors and the programs which facilitate the enhanced quality of life. The Department intends to accomplish this mission through the academic preparation of professionals, contributions to the professional body of knowledge, and provision of service to the university and community at large.
Deliver quality instruction in health and fitness. Teaching, advising, and preparation of undergraduate students for careers or pursuit of advanced degrees in the areas of health and fitness and allied health. Contribute to the Program, Department, College, and University events and activities that includes institutional service and new student recruitment. Maintain a program of scholarly/creative work or other clinical work.
Master’s degree in Kinesiology, Health, or related field.
Demonstrated ability to teach a variety of graduate and undergraduate courses
Demonstrated ability to mentor students
Terminal degree (E.g., PhD, EdD, MD) in Kinesiology, Health, or related field.
Teaching experience at the College level in courses and ability to teach courses such as, but not limited to: functional Anatomy and Physiology, Behavior Change, Corporate Health and Fitness, Management of Chronic Diseases, Health Promotion for Minoritized Groups, or Mental Health and Physical Activity .
Practical work experience in health and/or fitness within a clinical or commercial setting.
