The University of Findlay is seeking an experienced, dynamic environmental and occupational health regulatory expert for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant position. The position will be an integral part of the University’s nationally recognized Environmental, Safety and Occupational Health Management Department, which offers bachelors of science, degree completion and master’s degree programs both domestically and abroad. This position’s teaching responsibilities include bachelor’s and master’s degree level environmental policy and regulations courses, as well as occupational safety and health regulatory courses. This position will join a growing department of six full-time and three part time faculty who have a combined 260 years of industry and teaching experience.
Candidate must either possess a Ph.D./J.D. in environmental law or occupational law, or meet the University defined thresholds for professional equivalency, which include a master’s degree in environmental health, occupational safety and health and at least ten years of tested experience relevant to department-defined course outcomes, or a record of research, scholarship or professional achievement in the discipline, or additional professional credentials (i.e., licensure or certification in a relevant area) and a minimum of two years of tested experience relevant to department-defined course outcomes. Preference will be given to candidates with direct industry experience, and CIH or CSP credentials.
The University of Findlay’s EHS program is the only bachelor’s degree program in the nation to be both ABET and EHAC accredited and the graduate program also holds EHAC accreditation. Instructional facilities included dedicated industrial hygiene, ventilation and environmental science labs and training space, in addition to the All Hazards Training Center, which provides training to thousands of industry professionals each year. During the summer of 2016 a new faculty and student research lab was, as was a new environmental lab to go with our existing state of the art industrial hygiene ventilation lab.
The program is committed to student-centered education, professional development and scholarship, with a strong emphasis put on teaching and serving as a mentor for undergraduate research efforts.
