The Ribeirão Preto Medical School of the University of São Paulo (FMRP-USP) in Brazil is offering two post-doctoral positions under the supervision of Professors José Carlos Alves Filho and Fernando de Queiroz Cunha to work within the scope of the Center for Research in Inflammatory Diseases (CRID), a Research, Innovation and Dissemination Center (RIDC) based at FMRP-USP and supported by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP).

The fellows will work on projects aimed at identifying new immunoregulatory targets to enhance antitumor responses. The research focuses on investigating changes in cellular metabolism and how the tumor microenvironment imposes metabolic barriers to the antitumor activity of regulatory T cells (Tregs). In addition, the role of NETs in patients' immune responses and the effect of the SWI/SNF complex on gene regulation to subvert immune cell activation in cancer will be studied.

We are seeking highly motivated candidates capable of working independently and as part of a team, with prior experience in molecular biology and experimental cancer and inflammation models. Candidates with experience in breeding genetically modified animals (Cre-Lox system) will be given priority.

Please send, until May 16th, 2025, to Prof. Dr. José Carlos Alves Filho (jcafilho@usp.br): Curriculum Vitae, a letter expressing the reasons for interest in the position, and two names of reference.

This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationality. Each selected candidate will receive a FAPESP Post-Doctoral fellowship in the amount of R$ 12,000.00 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 10% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent on items directly related to the research activity.
