Assistant Teaching Professor in Nursing (Pediatrics)
The College of Nursing seeks applicants for a full-time (thirty-six-week) non-tenure line appointment with full benefits, in the undergraduate program at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College to begin Fall 2021 or Spring 2022. The Penn State College of Nursing is one of the most comprehensive colleges of Nursing in any public university in the country. With over 2,100 undergraduate students and approximately 200 graduate students, our footprint is world-wide with our faculty creating immeasurable experiences for our students around the globe.
Primary responsibilities will include
- Coordination and instruction in pediatric nursing courses, including classroom, simulation lab, and clinical teaching, along with other courses that match the candidate's background.
- Advising students.
- Participating in committees.
- Other service and scholarly activities as appropriate.
The position will be filled as Assistant Teaching Professor (doctorate) or Instructor (master's degree) based on the applicant's credentials. Preference will be given to those holding a doctoral degree, and consideration given to Master's degree candidates who are pursuing a doctoral degree.
Successful applicants should show evidence of professional growth, scholarship, and mastery of pediatric subject matter; hold a valid nursing license; and be eligible for RN licensure in Pennsylvania. The Erie area has multiple opportunities available for collaborative research and scholarly activity through two local hospitals. Additionally, the college maintains a research partnership with the Magee Women's Research Institute - Erie (MWRI-Erie).
