University College Cork wishes to appoint a Professor/Professor (Scale 2) in Clinical Nursing Older Person Healthcare, Permanent – 50/50 funded with UCC/HSE-South/South West Hospital Group (SSWHG) within the School of Nursing & Midwifery in the College of Medicine & Health. This is an exciting opportunity for research leadership in a vibrant community of active researchers and post-graduate masters and doctorate students.  The School of Nursing & Midwifery is highly regarded for the quality of its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and the depth of its scholarship including national and international collaborations.

The post-holder will be expected to provide leadership in working towards achieving agreed objectives of the School of Nursing and Midwifery, University College Cork and the SSWHG by engaging in scholarly activity through research and teaching with a primary focus on practice and service development. The successful candidate will have a doctorate in a discipline relevant to nursing/midwifery/related health service and demonstrate a proven commitment to excellence in research as evidenced by a scholarly reputation of international standing.  S/he will have an extensive track record of scholarship in the field of nursing and older person healthcare research including explicit evidence of fostering a culture of research excellence.

The Professor/Professor (Scale 2) in Clinical Nursing Older Person Healthcare will be a dynamic leader who will lead the School in continuing its trajectory of research collaborations with health service providers especially in the region and with other researchers nationally and internationally.

Depending on the level of experience, appointment may be made on the following scales:
Professor Salary Scale: €120,274 – €154,507 (Scale B) / €114,392 – €146,781 (Scale A) or Professor Scale 2 Salary Scale: €102,040 – €119,379 (Scale B) / €€97,070 – 113,544 (Scale A)
Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with public sector pay policy.
