The University of Kentucky, College of Nursing Graduate Program is seeking a Special Title Series (tenure-eligible) Assistant Professor. This position is a 12-month appointment with an anticipated Distribution of Effort of about 50-60% Teaching and Advising, 20-40% Clinical Practice Activities, 10-15% Research and Scholarly Activity, and 5-10% Service/Professional Development which will be reviewed annually. The salary range for this position is $120,000-$135,000. We anticipate a start date of August 1, 2024.
This position, based in Lexington, KY, onsite, will assist in MSN/DNP program instruction needed to expand and resource the Acute Gerontological Acute Care Nursing (AGACNP) specialty program in the College of Nursing. This position requires an individual to provide teaching, advising, and mentoring related to (a) delivery of care to acute and chronically ill populations in the inpatient/outpatient clinical settings (b) contributing to scholarly practice and (c) advancing nursing professionalism as an advanced practice nurse. Position responsibilities include designing, implementing, and evaluating didactic and clinical courses in the College’s Graduate Nursing programs through recognized curriculum processes in the College of Nursing, planning and evaluating student clinical experiences, and advising students in the DNP program. This position requires the candidate to serve as a liaison between the College and clinical agencies in which student placements occur and participate as an active interprofessional team member. Collaboration with UK Healthcare providers, administrators and staff is required to assess, develop and evaluate strategies targeted at leadership areas of nursing. Candidate is expected to participate in the assessment, planning and implementation and evaluation of applicable programs, projects, scholarship and research anticipating the submission of manuscripts for publication and presentations of scholarly activities in peer-reviewed venues. Development of a program of scholarship. Lead investigations in research, EBP, QI, or policy seeking funding to support scholarship. The required education and experience include a PhD or DNP nursing degree with a specialization as an Adult Gerontological Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and current certification. Experience as an Adult Gerontological Acute Care Nurse Practitioner preferred. Active Kentucky license as a registered nurse required along with a certification as an Adult Gerontological Acute Care Nurse.
