In keeping with the President’s commitment to Tuskegee University seeking "Excellence in Every Way," the ideal Assistant/Associate Professor will be able to assist in the daily operations and management of CAENS/Department of Food and Nutrition Science and in alignment with the Office of the President.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
The Department houses the (ACEND) -accredited DPD program, preparing students with the education to become registered dietitians. The Internship Director is responsible for assuring that all ACEND accreditation standards, policies, and procedures are met in regards to the Internship program, data collection and evaluation, completing and submitting required annual program reports, required ongoing program assessment and revision with ACEND standards. In addition, responsibilities include, but not limited to, extension research in nutrition, health well-being, teaching graduate nutrition/dietetics/food courses, academic advising and mentoring of the program’s students and working collaboratively and effectively with other faculty members to advance the missions of the program, Department, College, and University.
Earned Doctorate in human nutrition food science, public health nutrition or closely related field
Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration
Minimum of three (3) years professional experience post credentialing
Evidence of successful teaching, research and extension experience at the graduate level
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications (Associate Level)
Familiar and actively involve with ACEND-accredited program
Evidence of scholarly activity, including, but not limited to publications, conference presentations, and grant writing
History of interdisciplinary training or collaborations
Commensurate with education, training, and experience: Salary is contingent upon outside funding.
