The Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology, College of Public Health at East Tennessee State University (ETSU) seeks applicants for a full-time, open rank Professorship in the epidemiology concentration with a projected start date of Fall 2022 . Some appointments may be eligible for tenure. Clinical and Research track appointments may be convertible to tenure-track no later than the end of year three of the appointment. ETSU is a Doctoral Research Intensive University and home to approximately 15,000 students. Candidates should have a doctoral degree in epidemiology or a related field. Applicants with expertise in chronic disease epidemiology are highly encouraged to apply. The successful candidate is expected to teach epidemiologic methods in public health, chronic disease epidemiology courses, increase student-learning opportunities in statistical software applications to public health data, and assist with the development of contemporary online graduate certificates/programs in epidemiology. Candidates for the Professorship position should have demonstrated, or have the potential to demonstrate, a strong record of scholarship, extramural funding and excellence in teaching.
The Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology is housed in a CEPH-accredited school of public health (https://www.etsu.edu/cph). Department faculty teach undergraduate and graduate online and onsite courses. The Department participates in the MPH and DrPH degree programs. Department faculty research includes adverse childhood experiences and adult health outcomes, environmental epidemiology, health disparities and global health, oral health, addiction treatment, recovery and harm reduction, subsample size determination methods, and early-life exposures impact on growth, development and health.
