The University at Buffalo School of Nursing (SON) invites applicants for the position of Clinical Assistant/Associate/Full Professor (FNP). This is a full-time (12-month) appointment to education students in our Family Nurse Practitioner program.

Responsibilities include:
  • Classroom and online didactic teaching, mentoring, supervising, and evaluating students in clinical practice and simulated learning environments.
  • Planning, developing, and implementing evidence-based, innovative, and interactive learning experiences for the adult learner across classroom and clinical learning environments for Doctor of Nursing practice (DNP), post-masters (DNP), and post-masters (advanced certificate students).
  • Build scholarship with expectations to publish, present, and disseminate knowledge in your area of scholarly expertise.
  • Maintains clinical nursing expertise and adheres to ethical and professional nursing standards of practice.
  • Collaborates with faculty to plan, design, implement, and lead classroom, laboratory/simulated, and community-based practice student learning experiences.
  • Assist Clinical Coordinator and FNP faculty with securing clinical placements for students.
  • Establishes collaborative and positive working relationships that respect the dignity, worth, and culture of students, faculty, staff, colleagues, peers, patients, families, communities, agency nurse managers, and interdisciplinary agency teams and staff. Participates in agency/organizational/unit orientations.
  • Serves as a mentor and professional role model to facilitate and ensure the planning, implementation, and evaluation of learning experiences.
  • Assists students with the transfer, utilization, and synthesis of knowledge into current learning activities and practical experiences through establishment of physical and emotional environments conducive to effective teaching and learning.
  • Establishes early intervention/remediation through specific written guidance and referral for activities to facilitate academic success in students demonstrating unsafe advanced nursing practice and/or who lack clinical preparation.
  • Participate in committee service at the school and university levels.
  • Complies with State, University, Clinical Agency, and professional regulations/requirements.
