Boston University Sargent College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences invites applications for a full-time Clinical Assistant Professor (non-tenure track) position to support the Bachelor of Science in Behavior and Health (BSBH) program. The Bachelor of Science in Behavior and Health (BSBH) program offers unparalleled opportunities for undergraduate students to study, learn, and explore the intersection of society, behavior, and health including evidence-based, whole person approaches to advancing the health and well-being of all people. The Occupational Therapy (OT) Department, which administers the BSBH program, offers an entry-level doctoral degree program (EL-OTD), a post-professional online doctoral degree program, an undergraduate degree in Behavior and Health (BSBH), and a PhD in Rehabilitation Science. Our EL-OTD is ranked by US News and World Report as #1. Our faculty are world-renowned, leading the field in clinical experience and research, and are passionate about engaging students in these professional activities. We focus on community-based practice and emerging practice areas, with hands-on, practical experiences integrated throughout our curricula.

Responsibilities for Clinical Assistant Professor position: At Boston University, a Clinical Assistant Professor is a faculty member appointed to provide instruction and application of practical knowledge as well as advancing knowledge through scholarship for a stated term. The title reflects strong teaching ability, and professional expertise and achievement. Clinical Assistant Professors are expected to have a program of scholarship, to publish papers or present at conferences on their scholarship annually and maintain a line of scholarship that engages students and advances knowledge, practice, or pedagogy in their field. Faculty engage in collaborative endeavors across Boston University in a wide range of departments/areas such as Biomedical Engineering, Computing & Data Sciences, Neuroscience, Psychological Sciences, Social Work, Education, Medicine, and Public Health
This is a full-time, renewable, 9-month, non-tenure track appointment that will begin on or after July 1, 2025, depending on the candidate and final approval of the academic appointment. The Clinical Assistant Professor will teach, advise students, participate in department, college, and university service and engage in scholarship. A successful candidate will have training and professional experience in psychology, counseling, public health, occupational therapy education or a related field.
Qualifications:
• PhD, ScD, DrPH, DVM, DNP, or other relevant doctoral degree; advanced ABD considered
• Evidence of scholarly activity with potential to develop independent and/or collaborative scholarship at Boston University
• Teaching experience at the college/university level, preferably with undergraduate students
What to expect from our process:

The in-person interview will include a 45-minute job talk and a 45-minute teaching demonstration.
