The Undergraduate Nursing Program at Simmons University is seeking applicants for a full time Boston-based 10-month contract faculty position in Medical Surgical Nursing & Pharmacology, to begin in Fall 2021. Depending on the candidate's experience and professional goals, we offer several different possibilities for faculty rank.
The faculty member will have the opportunity to teach courses in medical surgical nursing and pharmacology in the traditional BSN program, Accelerated BSN, and pre-licensure Direct Entry MSN programs. Faculty will participate in the development and evaluation of the curriculum in accordance with the philosophy and objectives of the Nursing program and the University. The nursing program values clinical excellence, learner-centered educational strategies and strong teaching skills. The faculty member is expected to advise undergraduate students and will serve as a member of departmental committees and actively engage in service to the Simmons community.
Simmons Undergraduate Nursing program is seeking candidates with a demonstrated commitment to clinical and academic excellence. While a doctoral degree in nursing is preferred, applicants with an MS in Nursing with at least 5 years' experience will also be considered. Previous teaching at the college level is preferable; applicants seeking to begin a career in higher education should also consider this opportunity. We are seeking candidates with a commitment of inclusion and diversity. Applicants must have an active MA RN license.
