The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for the teaching/learning process involving both academic programs including the MSN (online) and RN to BSN (online) and college partnerships involving the LVN to BSN (blended) and RN to BSN (blended) and will also participate in the necessary operations of the institution.
The Assistant/Associate Professor & Department Head of Post Licensure and Graduate Nursing serves as the department head of the Tarleton State University Nursing efforts in Fort Worth, Waco and other off-campus locations in association with the academic and college partnerships including but not limited to Tarrant County College. Provides leadership for the Department of Post Licensure and Graduate Nursing activities and directs operations for outreach programs through: 1) Building relationships with the extended area community (Chamber of Commerce, school districts, businesses, Tarrant County College campuses) and serving as a liaison to the same. 2) Serving as an onsite resource for adjuncts, traveling faculty, and any resident faculty; conducting orientation for adjuncts, traveling faculty, and resident faculty who are new to teaching in the off-campus programs; and cultivating a pool of local adjuncts. 3) Directing activities of and supervising advising/recruiting staff in off-campus locations. 4) Facilitating the implementation and growth of programs, including the development of any program-specific articulation agreements between Tarleton and affiliated colleges and universities. 5) Directing recruiting activities for off-campus programs including information fair planning and scheduling, student orientation and registration help events, survey management, and literature production, and web site 6.) Communicating with Department Heads as needed. 7) Directing regular communication to prospective, pending, and admitted students regarding enrollment, payment of tuition.
The successful candidate will be effective teaching in the classroom, skills lab, simulation, and clinical areas for undergraduate and graduate students. This position with design and/or implement course(s)/clinical(s) consistent with the programs curriculum, as well as create a positive, effective, learning environment for students in all areas.
Earned doctorate in Nursing or related field (PhD preferred, DNP and EdD considered) from a school approved by the University and recognized by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The candidate must have a minimum of three years teaching and leadership experience.
Registrations, Certification, and Licenses:
Current RN license in the State of Texas.
