Tarleton State University, College of Health Sciences and Human Services is seeking an Assistant Dean, School of Nursing. This position is a 12-month, tenure-track position.

The Assistant Dean under general direction, oversees and provides leadership and support for department heads and faculty within the School of Nursing. Assists the Dean with academic matters and is responsible for quality assurance of administrative matters handled by the office. Serves as a Campus Security Authority (CSA).
Earned terminal nursing degree (PhD or DNP or equivalent) from a regionally accredited university; Must possess appropriate academic credentials for appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor rank; A minimum of five years of teaching experience; Must be eligible to serve as Texas Board of Nursing Program Director; Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and have the ability to work with constituents across campus; Department or college level administrative experience is preferred.
Teaching: Develops, implements, and reviews effective teaching/learning processes, incorporating appropriate methodology, technology, and other tools; Remains current in discipline and update course content when appropriate to reflect current levels of student knowledge in the discipline; Works in partnership with immediate supervisor through a formal system of evaluation of instruction to identify strengths and weaknesses and identifies professional development activities to improve student learning; Maintains appropriate schedule of office hours for student access and inquiry.
Assists the Dean in the coordination of the College of Health Sciences and Human Services (COHSHS) student Nursing experience and the flow of Nursing students through COHSHS degree programs; Assists/directs the academic appeals process for the School of Nursing.
Works with the COHSHS Dean, Head, Department of Post Licensure and Graduate Nursing, Tarleton’s AVP for Outreach and Off-Campus Programs on an integrated approach to COHSHS’s outreach activities consistent with the missions of the university and the college; Monitors Nursing enrollment for all locations and programs in COHSHS.
Supervises the Head, Department of Post Licensure and Graduate Nursing and the Head of Pre-Licensure Nursing; Directs the School of Nursing in the preparation of annual planning and assessment documents; Assists in the preparation of materials required for state and/or national accreditation; Serves as program director of BSN program; Serves as Director of Nursing programs for Texas Board of Nursing and CCNE; Coordinates all licensure and accreditation activities.
