This is a part time limited term position anticipated to work 17.5 hours per week for one year.

The Department of Infectious Disease and Global Health combines public/population health, international medicine, wildlife and conservation medicine and infectious disease teaching and research. The department’s goal is to improve human, animal and ecosystem health locally, nationally and internationally. The alignment of these areas promotes cross-disciplinary strengths that are important in achieving the department’s goal of improving human, animal and ecosystem health locally, nationally, and internationally.

The Cummings School is seeking an experienced part time (50%) Project Manager to coordinate the programmatic and fiscal activities of an NIH project focused on generating immune reagents for drug, therapeutics, and vaccines against COVID 19. Background in health or biological sciences with management skills, demonstrated successful grant-writing experience, and excellent communication skills are key requirements for this position. This position is responsible for the daily administrative oversight of the NIH project. Other key responsibilities include: work with colleagues to write and gather the necessary documents required for submission of reporting materials to federal funding agency; provide logistical support for the PI, faculty, and laboratory support staff; compile and draft reports for regular submission; work with the PI, Research Administrator and other internal or external financial offices to monitor the budget and maintain it in audit-ready form; oversee travel and expense reimbursements and expenditures; track and monitor all aspects of the award; organize and maintain project files and databases for easy search and access; schedule meetings and organize teleconferences; draft articles and other external communications and keep these up-to-date; serve as point of contact for the project; facilitate communication among team members.


Basic Requirements:

4 +years in health or biological sciences and/or management. MS degree with background in health or biological sciences or management. Valid US Driver’s license. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently, under supervision, and as part of a team. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. with or without accommodation.

Special Work Schedule Requirements:

Some brief evening and weekend work may be requested where it can be accommodated.
