
Open Rank Full-Time Faculty Position in Communication Sciences and Disorders

Emerson College's Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) seeks to fill a full-time position, commensurate with experience, of Associate Professor (Tenured), Assistant Professor (Tenure-track), or Scholar-In-Residence (full-time/term, non-tenure-track); we are especially interested in candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas: alternative and augmentative communication (AAC), language disorders across the lifespan, and/or audiology/aural rehabilitation. This position is full-time, in-person on our Boston campus. The teaching load may include graduate and/or undergraduate courses, offered on-campus and/or online, as determined by the needs of the department. The appointment begins August 20, 2026 with a mandatory 2-day orientation August 20 & 21, 2026.

Emerson's CSD program, one of the oldest and most respected in the country, is highly ranked and offers state-of-the-art, accessible, on-campus clinical facilities and a wide array of off-campus clinical sites, integrating our students and faculty with regional communities. Through our traditional on-campus programs and our innovative online modality, we prepare a diverse population of students for excellence in Speech-Language Pathology.
Required qualifications:
A doctorate (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in Communication Disorders or a related discipline in hand at the time of appointment and college-level teaching as instructor of record, teaching assistant, or similar experience.
Associate and Assistant Professor candidates will be expected to maintain an active program of research. All candidates will be expected to engage in teaching and service and be able to work effectively with faculty, students, and staff from various backgrounds. We prefer individuals with expertise in Communication Disorders but will consider individuals in related fields. ASHA certification and experience with online pedagogy are also strongly preferred. We welcome applicants interested in taking on administrative roles in the short- or long-term.

Compensation: $80,121 - $120,447 annually, commensurate with experience.
